Job summary

Gensler is seeking an interiors-focused Designer in Los Angeles to craft experience-driven spaces. You will blend creativity, storytelling, and technical knowledge with business sense, delivering concept-to-construction design with strong visuals.

Ideal candidates hold a degree in Interior Design and 1–5 years of professional experience, proficient in Revit, SketchUp, Enscape, and Adobe Creative Suite, with a portfolio to showcase strong graphics and visualization skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform interior design assignments from programming client needs to construction documentation.

  • Provide design support during completion and execution of concepts.
  • Collaborate with external consultants, product reps, and vendors.

Job description

Role Overview

As a Gensler interiors-focused Designer, you will combine creativity, storytelling, and technical knowledge with business skills to produce experience-driven spaces for clients. You should have exceptional design skills, commercial experience, and a portfolio of innovative design concepts.

What You Will Do
  • Perform interior design assignments that include programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning, and construction documentation.
  • Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lighting.
  • Generate finish plans, specifications, and material selections needed for construction.
  • Provide design support and documentation during completion and execution of design concepts.
  • Work with external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Interior Design.
  • 1–5 years of professional interior design experience.
  • Proficient in Revit, SketchUp, Enscape, and other modeling software programs.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Strong graphics and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideas.
