Job summary

BHDP Architecture seeks a Designer III to support project teams through design exploration, planning, and Revit production, taking on increased responsibility for technical quality and coordination.

The role is ideal for a collaborative, detail-oriented designer who can lead day-to-day production, mentor junior designers, and coordinate with consultants while advancing design thinking and technical delivery across projects.

Travel to client sites and project locations is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Architecture degree (NAAB‑accredited preferred).
• 6+ years in design/architecture industry.
• NCARB Record + AXP progress preferred.
• ARE test sections completion preferred.
• Advanced Revit knowledge; independently deliver defined drawing packages/projects and teach others.
• Advanced visualization skills with SketchUp/Enscape/Lumion.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration within a team.
• Models professional workplace behaviors.

Responsibilities

• Delivers multiple projects and deliverables packages accurately, completely, and on time.
• Maintains quality by coordinating impacts across the project and following QA+QC through confirmed completion, reducing repeat errors and rework.
• Breaks scope of work into clear assignments with due dates and defined standards.
• Coaches and delegates through actionable markups and short check-ins.
• Identifies design, coordination, constructability, and code/life-safety issues early and develops viable options tied to criteria.
• Escalates higher-risk items; documents assumptions and decisions.
• Communicates clear status, roadblocks, and next steps with team and consultants.
• Maintains rolling look-ahead across projects and adheres to milestones.
• Tracks hours-to-plan and escalates scope/schedule risks with recovery options.
