Job summary

BHDP Architecture is seeking a Designer II in Charlotte, NC to support project teams through design exploration, planning, and Revit production. This role targets a collaborative, detail-oriented designer who can work more independently and grow in both design thinking and technical delivery.

The position requires a Bachelor of Architecture (NAAB-accredited preferred), 3+ years in architecture, and Revit proficiency. Travel to client sites is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Architecture degree (NAAB accredited program preferred).
• 3+ years in the design and architecture industry.
• NCARB Record + AXP progress preferred.
• Proficiency in Revit; independently deliver defined drawing packages/projects.
• Proficiency in production-ready visualization capabilities (SketchUp, Enscape, Lumion).
• Desire and willingness to learn.
• Demonstrated initiative; sees challenges as opportunities.
• Strong attention to detail; professional demeanor and client-facing excellence.

Responsibilities

• Independently delivers assigned deliverable packages and details that are accurate, complete, coordinated, and issued on time.
• Meets BHDP quality expectations through project coordination, QA/QC, and minimizing rework.
• Coordinates scope with project systems and consultants, resolving routine issues with growing independence.
• Escalates higher-risk items and applies lessons learned to reduce repeats.
• Uses BHDP standards/templates to improve team consistency.
• Coaches teammates and supports developing others with feedback to drive standards adoption.
• Communicates status, roadblocks, and next steps with timely follow-up and documentation of decisions.
• Manages scope to meet milestones and hours-to-plan, escalating risks early with recovery options.
• Submits accurate, on-time weekly timesheets for client billing and understands impact on project accounting.
