Position Summary

With minimal supervision, use AutoCAD to produce complete detailed drawings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Use AutoCAD to produce final drawings from marked‑up drawings, sketches or written instructions.
  • Become familiar with product inspection tools and measurement of actual parts to produce drawings.
  • Use electronic document control system for logging in and checking out drawings.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain competency in the drafting tools and techniques used to produce drawings.
  • Become proficient with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and current drafting standards.
  • Become familiar with other drafting packages, such as Inventor and SolidWorks.
  • Provide guidance and technical support to CAD Operator‑I.
  • Review and check drawings produced by CAD Operator‑I.
  • Provide drafting support as requested by peers, engineers and project managers.
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor or lead draftsperson.
Qualification Requirements
  • Associate’s degree or drafting certificate with at least 2–4 years of drafting experience; or at least 4 years of related experience without a degree; or at least 5 years of related experience without a certificate.
  • Intimate knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is desirable.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged sitting.
