Job summary

Titan Production Equipment, LLC is seeking a Designer to create mechanical, piping, vessel and structural designs using Autodesk CADWorx for oil and gas production equipment. You will work from scope/ specs to produce drawings, BOMs and 3D models.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will ensure quality and conformity to industry standards. The role requires 4 years of design experience, CADWorx proficiency, and familiarity with AutoCAD Plant 3D.

Qualifications

  • CADWorx experience is a MUST.
  • Associates degree or technical CAD training.
  • 4 years designing piping, vessel and structural equipment.
  • Experience using AutoCAD and CADWorx (Plant 3D and Codeware helpful).
  • Strong ability to design and develop mechanical, structural, piping and vessel drawings.
  • Familiar with electrical schematics and control panels a plus.
  • Good organizational, planning, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in oil and gas facilities and construction of production equipment.
  • MS Office Suite including Excel and Word.
  • Familiar with ERP systems like Oracle or Global Shop Solutions is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Review scope of work and client specifications to consider during design phase.
  • Produce P&IDs of common process equipment used in oil & gas industry.
  • Modify and adapt existing go-by drawings for new projects.
  • Create 3D models using CADWorx depicting accurate details of all components and parts.
  • Generate fabrication drawings and piping isometrics with complete bills of materials.
  • Use pressure vessel calculations to produce ASME code pressure vessel drawings.
  • Ensure quality of drawings according to dept. and industry standards.
  • Perform basic calculations and use charts/tables during design.
  • Analyze proposed changes for fit and interference; confer with engineers to resolve issues.
  • Familiar with human engineering factors and design for manufacturing and serviceability.
  • Work within budget constraints and track time per project.
  • Provide design time estimates during bid preparation.
  • Consult with engineers to ensure correct part numbers/layouts.
  • Export BOM into ERP system for purchasing.
  • Review completed jobs and create As-Built drawings using lessons learned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and assist with shop instructions.

Position: Designer

Position has primary responsibility for creating mechanical, piping, vessel and structural designs and drawings using Autodesk CADWorx for manufacturing oil and gas production and processing equipment. Job includes working with new/existing designs and applying that information to create new drawings and bills of materials.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Designer’s duties are as follows:

  • Familiar with human engineering factors and design for manufacturing and serviceability
  • Work within budget constraints and tracks time to each project
  • Provide design time estimates as needed during bid preparation
  • Consult with engineers to ensure correct part number selections or layout problems
  • Export bill of materials directly into ERP system for purchasing
  • Review completed jobs and create “As-Built” drawings using lessons learned
  • Perform other duties as assigned and assists with shop work instructions or problems
Preferred Education And Experience
  • CADWorx experience is a MUST.
  • Associates Degree or Technical School Training in Computer Aided Design Technology or related field equivalent or equal combination of education and experience
  • 4 years designing and documenting piping, vessel, and structural equipment or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have experience using AutoCad and CADWorx (AutoCad Plant 3D and Codeware Compress experience helpful)
  • Strong creative ability to design and develop mechanical, structural, piping and vessel drawings. Familiarity with electrical schematics and control panels a plus
  • Good organizational, planning, verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in oil and gas facilities and construction of production equipment
  • Use MS Office Suite, including Exel and Word.
  • Familiar with Oracle, Global Shop Solutions or other ERP systems is a plus.
Physical Strain
  • Must be able to work under pressure
  • Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department
  • Must wear all required PPE in the shop
