Job summary

Gulf Companies in Houston, TX is seeking a Principal Designer – Piping to perform advanced piping design work, including P&IDs, piping plans, sections and isometrics, and BOMs using CAD tools.

The role requires extensive experience in piping design, leadership on projects, vendor drawing review, and mentoring CAD staff. Strong knowledge of codes and standards is essential, with CadWorx and Excel proficiency preferred.

Qualifications

• 5 years of CAD experience
• 10 or more years of design experience in a drafting environment developing Piping & Instrument Designs (P&IDs), piping plans and sections and piping bills of materials.
• Working knowledge of applicable codes and industry standards
• Previous project leadership preferred
• Experience in piping projects for pipeline companies’ and/or upstream companies’ compressor stations, pump stations and facilities preferred
• Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• CadWorx required
• Microsoft Excel
