Job summary

Caro Home in Stamford, CT, is seeking a Designer to shape visuals for product development, including illustrations, logos, layouts, and photos. You will drive the visual language across collections and contribute to line sheets, color development, and color management.

You will collaborate with PD and Sales to build assortments, prepare tech packs, and curate trend boards. Strong CAD and Adobe Suite skills are essential for creating factory-ready artwork and compelling customer presentations.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience working in home textile design.
  • Extensive experience and talent working with printed textiles.
  • Expert knowledge of indexing artwork, creating repeats.
  • Experience color separating to create factory-ready artwork tech packages.
  • Ability to create original designs and create designs off of inspiration.
  • Good color sense to create colorways.
  • Must be highly proactive with an acute attention to deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills for computer files and vendor information.
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently as well as within a team.
  • Knowledge of CAD, Adobe Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and create customer presentations per sales instructions.

  • Update and recolor line sheets per customer request and keep records up to date.
  • Assist in showroom setup for customer meetings.
  • Attend and participate in buyer meetings when available.
  • Create tech packs for overseas vendors and follow development from concept to completion.
  • Adhere to seasonal calendars for accounts/categories.
  • Review color standards and lab dips with vendors and maintain digital color libraries.
  • Develop trend boards and curations for meetings and color palettes.
  • Upload tech packs to BeProduct and track development samples with PD teams.
  • Review samples with PD and vendors to ensure color and construction accuracy.
  • Create CAD prints and repeat artwork, color edits, and palette matching.
  • Attend weekly cross-functional meetings; share updates and insights.
  • Conduct competitive shopping with photos and notes on cost, origin, and packaging.
  • Research trends online and in-store to guide Caro Home directions.

Job Summary

The Designer at Caro Home is responsible for defining requirements, visualizing and creating graphics including illustrations, logos, layouts and photos. The designer will shape the visual aspects of product development.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conceptualize and create customer presentations per sales instructions.
  • Work independently to build comprehensive assortments and sample boards to communicate collections to buyers.
  • Updating and recoloring of line sheets per customer request and keeping all linesheets up to date per final order for our image records.
  • Help in preparation of set up of showroom for customer meetings.
  • Attend and participate in buyer meetings when available.
  • Assist in creating tech packs for overseas vendors and follow development from concept to completion.
  • Adhere to seasonal time and action calendar for given accounts/categories.
  • Review and evaluate color standards, lab dips with various vendors. Follow lab dip process with naming, numbering and creating color cards as well as keeping our digital libraries up to date.
  • Participate in research and development of everyday and seasonal trends. Help curate trend boards for meetings and curate customer color palettes.
  • Uploading tech packs to BeProduct (Internal PLM system).
  • Work in tandem with PD team to track all development samples and communicate to direct reports status – including fabric samples, lab dips, strike-offs and other development materials.
  • Review PP and TOP samples with PD and vendors to confirm color and construction accuracy. Work with PD/vendors on how to correct any issues.
  • Create CAD print repeats as final artwork, edit and recolor and match color from seasonal palettes.
  • Attend weekly PD/Sales/Design Touch Base meetings. Come prepared to share updates, concerns, questions and share insights with cross functioning teams.
  • Comp shop your listed accounts frequently and report findings with photos and document retail cost, country of origin, construction, content, packaging and any other valuable information to note.
  • Comp shop home, fashion, and retail sources online and in person for inspiration and knowledge of trends in the markets and communicate this knowledge to Caro and team.
  • Create and manage seasonal BUY Calendars with sales and PD. Keep updated production line sheets in the master binder.
  • Maintain development samples per account, per category. Making sure all is clearly tagged and dated for ease of reference.
  • Independently own and manage all above design responsibilities concerning a customer or a major category within a customer – to be determined with designer and manager.
