Job summary

GCW, Inc. in Las Vegas seeks a Land Development Designer to design land development and public works projects, preparing construction drawings, grading plans, street improvements, and utilities.

The Designer will work closely with Project Managers and CAD Technicians; strong AutoCAD Civil 3D skills are necessary. Three years of civil engineering experience and a high school diploma with a technical certificate are required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma and technical certificate in a related discipline.
  • Three years of Civil Engineering firm experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive company vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Designs improvement plans and calculations for residential, commercial, and institutional projects under a Project Manager.
  • Assist in research and information gathering for designs.
  • Prepare engineering drawings, study plans, and tentative maps.
  • Maintain organized files for designs and project progression.
  • Coordinate tasks with internal staff and sub-consultants.
  • Assist in creating client exhibits and interfaces with agencies as needed.
  • Attend progress meetings and generate weekly reports for approval by the Project Manager.
  • Maintain a high level of quality control.

Description

As a Land Development Designer at GCW, you will have the opportunity to design land development and public works projects. This team member is responsible for preparing construction drawings, grading plans, street improvements, utilities. The Designer works closely with Project Managers and CAD Technicians.   • Under supervision, interfaces with agencies (i.e., processing, research and plan checks).

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities


  • Must be proficient in Civil 3D

  • Willingness to learn and abide by the company’s CAD procedures for layering and file management

Education And Experience Requirements

A high school diploma and a technical school degree/certificate in a related discipline is required. Three (3) years of working experience within a Civil Engineering Firm using AutoCAD Civil 3D software is required.
