Job summary

Floor & Decor Holdings Inc. is seeking a Design Consultant to meet with customers, translate project needs into complete design concepts, and guide them through product selections for residential and commercial projects.

You will greet customers, schedule appointments, and collaborate with store leadership to deliver timely, accurate design solutions while staying current with trends and product knowledge.

Qualifications

• 1 year of interior design experience or prior retail/sales experience
• Design degree is a plus
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills
• Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite
• Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position

Responsibilities

• Greet store customers in a helpful manner and support store design walk-in needs
• Schedule design appointments for existing and potential customers, while developing clientele through networking and referrals, as well as leads generated within the store
• Provide tile, wood, stone and accessories advice to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for both residential and commercial projects
• Design and sell complete, functional and aesthetically appealing solutions
• Manage multiple, simultaneous customer projects through all phases with a high level of accuracy, timeliness and follow-up
• Collaborate, partner and communicate with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation, and achieve sales and other goals
• Enthusiastically support all company initiatives and goals by modeling and coaching best practices with store employees
• Engage in current and emerging design trends in your market
• Understand and utilize design applications i.e.; Salesforce, proprietary Online Design Appointment Scheduler, MyProject
• Perform other duties as assigned
