Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC in Seattle seeks a Design Technologist to shape the Storm design system and build AI-enabled tooling for designers and developers. You will prototype with React and TypeScript, collaborating with UX, engineering and research to deliver scalable, end-to-end design solutions that empower teams across the Ads and AUX orgs.

The role offers opportunities to experiment with emerging AI workflows, contribute to Figma plugins, and ship products that improve designer productivity

Qualifications

• 3+ years of front‑end technologist, engineer, or UX prototyper experience.
• Have coding samples in front end programming languages.
• Experience with UI design for complex workflows and for end users.
• BS degree in computer science or equivalent, or 4+ years of technical work experience.
• Have an online portfolio or samples of work on resume, demonstrating end‑to‑end, user‑centered design solutions and patterns across desktop and mobile.
• Experience with web, mobile web, and mobile app development including both front‑end and back‑end (e.g., building APIs, services, or cloud‑based applications).
• Proficiency with Figma and modern front‑end frameworks (React, TypeScript).
• Experience building applications that integrate LLMs, AI/ML APIs, or agentic workflows.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in concept development and design ideation.
• Rapidly build and iterate on functional prototypes that express design intent.
• Bring strong UX intuition to interpret design intent and usability issues.
• Partner with engineering to ensure interactive techniques translate to scalable tools.
• Partner with design and research to create realistic prototypes to test with end customers.
• Work creatively around platform limitations to deliver delightful customer experiences.
• Lead large, wide impact DT projects driving scalable design solutions.
• Lead others and set direction amid ambiguity.
• Evaluate and document new standards or patterns from your work.
• Present work to leadership at all levels.
