Amazon.com Services LLC in Seattle seeks a Design Technologist to shape the Storm design system and build AI-enabled tooling for designers and developers. You will prototype with React and TypeScript, collaborating with UX, engineering and research to deliver scalable, end-to-end design solutions that empower teams across the Ads and AUX orgs.
The role offers opportunities to experiment with emerging AI workflows, contribute to Figma plugins, and ship products that improve designer productivity
DescriptionAt Amazon we put our customers first in everything we do – including our advertising programs. We’re building solutions that enable brands to connect with their customers—globally and at scale—where they shop, read, watch videos, and share online. The Advertiser User Experience (AUX) team excels at distilling the needs of a diverse user base into experiences that balance efficiency with robust utility. We’re looking for a new teammate who is enthusiastic, empathetic, curious, motivated, reliable, and able to work effectively with a diverse team of peers; someone who will help us amplify the positive & inclusive team culture we’ve been building.
The Storm design system team within AUX defines the UX foundations, guidelines and owns the design system that enables teams across Amazon Advertising to design on-brand advertiser experiences efficiently and at scale. We’re looking for a Design Technologist (DT) to define and deliver tooling solutions for our design system to support designers and developers worldwide. This individual will help build AI-based ecosystems to rapidly accelerate builders’ access to high-quality prototypes, user-centered writing guidelines and research agents to pair product design with customer feedback. This person will create and maintain new web/native-based applications, create services, and launch plugins for design applications (e.g., Figma). These solutions will require connections to 1P and 3P APIs/endpoints, documentation and presentation to help streamline workflow and transitions between designer and developer teams. Key goals of this role include: 1) unlock critical UX resources, democratizing and making them accessible for utilization in all stages of the product development lifecycle; and 2) automate inefficiencies across teams by staying close to customer needs. You'll have space to experiment with emerging technologies and workflows, with the expectation that experiments lead to shipped solutions that measurably improve how teams work. As a DT in AUX, you will be part of a cross-functional team of designers, technologists, researchers, front-end engineers and program managers. You will be responsible for creating solutions that drive scale across design teams using the Storm design system.
The Advertiser UX (AUX) team serves as the strategic design center for Amazon Ads, designing end-to-end experiences for advertisers, publishers, partners, and internal account teams across the Ads Console, PubTech, and Sales organizations. Our vision is to enable advertisers of all sizes to effortlessly harness advertising potential through intuitive, intelligent, and unified experiences. Operating across multiple product teams, AUX carries a view of our advertisers that no single domain holds, enabling us to look around corners, inform the creation of bar‑raising experiences, and connect the quality of those experiences to the real value they deliver.
