Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. is seeking a Principal Design Technologist to serve as technical advisor for AWS SSOG.

You’ll be at the center of a self-learning intelligence flywheel: Delight Lab validates novel interaction models and you turn them into production-ready Rhythm components for AWS Core. This deep-craft builder role demands shipping patterns and prototypes across six products, de-risking bold bets, and elevating design tooling to scale across teams.

Qualifications

Shipped production-grade interfaces for complex data-dense technical products (observability, security, developer tools, or cloud infrastructure).
Expert front-end engineering: high-fidelity prototypes; production code (React/TypeScript, HTML/CSS).
Experience building design-system components at scale, with architecture and accessibility considerations.
Translate novel interaction concepts into technically validated, shippable patterns.

Responsibilities

Advise the Director of Design on innovative interaction models and their path to real-world implementation.
Push agentic interaction design with prototypes and high-fidelity tests.
Invent patterns and reusable components while setting technical standards across SSOG.
Turn prototypes into production Rhythm components on AWS Core for multiple products.
Build tooling to sense, synthesize, and scale emerging interaction patterns.
De-risk bold bets by early feasibility testing across teams.
Raise the innovation bar across the design org through prototypes and collaboration.
