Job summary

The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society offers a Design Team Intern position for the 2027 Philadelphia Flower Show. This hands-on internship supports design and event production, providing a front-row view of turning drawings into physical show elements.

You will manage graphic production, on-site logistics, and data-driven design outputs while collaborating with a full team. The role requires evenings/weekends during peak periods and active participation throughout the build and show days.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud programs (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to create graphic decks in Google Slides.
• Comfort preparing print and graphic documents.
• Comfortable using measuring tools to take accurate measurements.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive a shared vehicle.
• Strong, proactive communicator with diverse teams.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to iterate and assist the team as needed.
• Bonus: Proficiency in 3D modeling (SketchUp/Layout preferred; CAD/Rhino also welcome).

Responsibilities

• Translate design drawings into the on-site Flower Show visuals.
• Assist with graphic production and print coordination.
• Take accurate field measurements and lay out show elements.
• Coordinate with labor crews and teams for on-site placement.
• Run errands and manage logistics for print and supplies.
• Provide cross-team support for documentation and event tasks.
• Process data in Excel and translate to design outputs.
