Job summary

Quest Analytics is seeking a contract designer to evolve and document a scalable design system. You will refine core UI components, establish variant conventions, and ensure token-driven development across product teams.

Collaboration with design and engineering is essential to reduce handoff friction and accelerate code-aligned design tokens. Required are 4+ years in UI/design, a strong portfolio, and expertise with Figma and accessibility standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in design-related field required or equivalent professional experience.
• 4+ years of UI/design experience, including hands-on design system ownership.
• Portfolio demonstrating UI and design system work, including component library development.
• Hands-on experience using Claude and Claude Code in production workflows.
• Advanced proficiency in Figma, including variables, tokens, components, and auto layout.
• Ability to create clear, usable design system documentation for designers and engineers.
• Understanding of how design tokens translate into code (CSS variables or similar).
• Strong written and asynchronous communication across design and engineering teams.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility and its application to UI components.
• Self-motivated, able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and refine core UI components atop token foundations.
• Ensure components work across six-workspace shell pattern and are reusable.
• Define consistent variant/state conventions and responsive behavior.
• Build component-level documentation and token-to-code mapping.
• Set up or extend a documentation platform (e.g., Storybook) as a single source of truth.
• Collaborate with Product Designer Manager and engineering to prioritize components and validate implementations.
