Job summary

Nassal, part of the PCL family, is seeking a Design Student for our Nassal office in Orlando. You will support the design team by refining technical shop drawings, attending meetings, and helping revise designs for as-built drawings.

Strong communication and willingness to learn are essential for collaborating with stakeholders. You’ll gain exposure to AutoCAD, Rhino, and Revit while developing 3D modeling and BIM coordination skills in a dynamic construction environment.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Design, Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and present ideas and content.
  • Some knowledge and/or interest in the construction process and various components involved at each stage of construction.
  • Experience using AutoCAD 2D & 3D, Rhino, Revit, and/or similar software.
  • Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office Suite and other applicable systems.
  • Knowledge of technical drawings, constructability, 3D modeling, and BIM coordination.
  • Ability to learn how to apply design, architectural, and/or engineering knowledge efficiently and with assistance.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and sound decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the design team in developing designs by refining complex technical shop drawings.
  • Attend team meetings to coordinate design requirements, options, and ideas for the project.
  • Revise designs and plans to meet modified specifications due to design intent changes and construction, leading to as-built drawings.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer-focused relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Support a profitability-focused culture and value-driven project delivery.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Must be authorized to work in the US.
  • Available to work in Orlando, FL, full-time from May to August
  • Employment with PCL is contingent upon passing a substance abuse test conducted by a third party.
