Job summary

The Museum of Modern Art is hiring temporary Sales Associates for the MoMA Design Store at 81 Spring Street in Soho. You will deliver knowledgeable, thoughtful customer service, assist with sales, memberships, email capture and gift wrap, and help maintain attractive displays.

Reporting to the Store Manager, you will handle register transactions, inventory, and product knowledge. A minimum of one year in retail and strong communication are required; interest in design, art, and architecture is

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum one year in retail sales.
Fluency in foreign language a plus.
Proficiency with POS, Email, Inventory Management Systems.

Responsibilities

Provides G.R.E.A.T. customer service (Greet, Relate, Engage, Affinity).
Proactively reaches out and engages customers on a regular basis.
Performs register transactions, including sales, memberships, email capture and gift wrap.
Responds to customer inquiries and assists in making selections.
Maintains a high level of Museum and product-related knowledge.
Executes daily stock maintenance by ensuring merchandise and fixtures are signed, displayed, lit and clean.
Participates in physical inventory and inventory control.
