Job summary

Stoke Space in Kent, WA is seeking a Design Reliability Engineer focused on system safety to join the Nova launch program. You will define processes and tools for FHA, FMECA, FTA, and HAZOP analyses and lead safety efforts across vehicle stages and subsystems.

You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to improve reliability, communicate results, and help manage interdisciplinary design risks in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering or similar field.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience on complex products with high reliability.
  • Strong command of system safety fundamentals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop processes, tools, and templates for FHA, FMECA, FTA, and HAZOP analyses.
  • Lead system safety analyses for the Nova team across products and interfaces.
  • Identify and solve problems to improve overall system reliability without adding design complexity.
  • Estimate component-level reliability and determine probabilities of failure modes using FTA/FMECA outputs.
  • Communicate results and refine analyses with internal teams and external entities such as FAA and Space Force.
  • Facilitate cross-disciplinary communication and manage interdisciplinary design risks.
