Job summary

Stellantis is seeking a Design Release Engineer in Auburn Hills to lead the design of SAI and adaptation components, ensuring alignment with engine and vehicle requirements. You will drive concept development, support CAD/CAE validation, and oversee documentation from concept through production.

In this role you will own BOMs, manage engineering change notices, lead PPAP activities, and collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams to ensure on-time, cost-effective

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years in automotive design/manufacturing.
• Knowledge of DFMEA, DVP&R, GD&T, CAE, and VSA.
• Experience with system and component-level requirements.
• Proficient in 3D CAD tools, preferably Siemens NX and Teamcenter.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of SAI and adaptation components aligning with engine/vehicle requirements.
• Develop and refine concepts for SAI systems based on packaging, performance and constraints.
• Support CAD modeling, CAE analysis, and validation methods including VSA.
• Collaborate with engine, vehicle, systems and packaging teams for integration.
• As DRE, partner with SAI technical expert lead to uphold best practices.
• Maintain sourcing docs, including SOR templates and inspection standards.
• Own BOM and CNs for assigned components; ensure cost/quality/timing targets.
• Lead PPAP for SAI systems; coordinate with manufacturing, suppliers, and QA.
