ALTEN Technology USA in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking a Design Release Engineer (DRE) to own electro-mechanical horn components from concept validation to serial production. You’ll work on cross‑functional teams and coordinate with global suppliers to ensure design integrity and on‑time releases.

The role requires a BS in engineering, experience with automotive mechatronics, and proficiency in CATIA V5 or Siemens NX, GD&T, and DFMEA/DFSS methods to improve reliability and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) is required or preferred.
• Experience in automotive mechatronics, body electrical systems, switches, or acoustic signaling devices.
• CAD/PLM tools: CATIA V5 or Siemens NX for checking digital mockups, packaging envelopes, and clearance checks.
• Knowledge of GD&T, DFMEA protocols and international vehicle safety compliance regulations.

Responsabilités

• Lead the complete design, packaging, and vehicle-level integration of horns.
• Act as primary technical contact for global Tier 1 suppliers, managing deliverables and timing.
• Author and execute DVP&R documents; coordinate acoustic, durability, and environmental testing.
• Develop DFMEA documents and apply DFSS methods to prevent failures.
• Execute engineering releases and manage change documentation in PLM systems like Teamcenter.
• Lead root-cause analysis for test failures, manufacturing concerns, or quality issues.
