Job summary

Hinduja Tech Limited in Farmington Hills, MI is seeking a Design Release Engineer to define BMS architecture for each family/program and establish common specifications for source packages. You will lead the development of standard product specifications and provide technical clarification with suppliers and manufacturing.

You will support DFMEA and validation/test plans, lead BMS legislative alignment, and define procedures for DTC service. Expect travel across the U.S.

Qualifications

• Must have a Master’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Engineering (any), or a related field, plus two (2) years of automotive engineering experience.
• Alternatively, a Bachelor's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Engineering (any), or a related field, plus five (5) years of progressive post-Bachelor’s Degree automotive engineering experience, with two years of that experience in CATIA V5, UG-NX, and SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

• Define Battery Management System (BMS) architecture for each family/program and define common BMS requirements to support all program features and legislative needs.
• Lead definition of standard product specifications for source packages and provide technical clarification with suppliers and manufacturing; support DFMEA and validation/test plans with teams.
• Provide status updates on issues to senior leadership; lead initial analysis of bulletins and define service/diagnostic procedures for DTCs; drive quality and budget goal attainment.

Job Description:

• Design Release Engineer(s) needed to work in Farmington Hills, MI and various and unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. to define Battery Management System (BMS) architecture for each family/program. Define common BMS requirements to support all program features and legislative requirements. Lead definition of standard product specifications, for source packages. Provide technical clarification of designs with suppliers and manufacturing. Support component Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA). Support the validation and test teams with strategies and plans. Lead BMS legislative needs and ensure specifications are developed for all programs. Lead definition for future big data requirements. Define overall common specification for EOL programming and support for each program. Lead initial analysis of Bulletins. Define service repair procedure definition for every Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). Provide status updates on issues or projects to the senior leadership team. Set internal goals, develop and improve existing processes to ensure quality and budget goals are met.

Qualification:

• Must have a Master's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Engineering (any), or a related field, plus two (2) years of automotive engineering experience as an Automotive Engineer, Product Engineer, Lead Engineer, Senior Engineer, or related position. The two (2) years of automotive engineering experience must include experience with the following: CATIA V5, UG-NX, and Solid Works. In the alternative, we will accept a Bachelor's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Engineering (any), or a related field, plus five (5) years of progressive post-Bachelor’s Degree automotive engineering experience. Two (2) years of the five (5) years of progressive post-Bachelor's Degree automotive engineering experience must include experience with the following: CATIA V5, UG-NX, and Solid Works.

All experience may be acquired concurrently. Travel and/or relocation may be required. Frequency of travel approximately 10% per year. International travel is not required.
