Job summary

Meijer is seeking a PD & Design Assistant to support the Product Development & Design team in creating and executing each season’s Own Brand assortments from concept through production.

You will research silhouettes, graphics, and trends; develop print and artwork; review labs and strike-offs; prepare seasonal presentation materials; sketch in Illustrator; manage PLM packages and assortment line sheets; and participate in sample reviews with cross-functional partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Fashion or Art (or equivalent experience and education).
• 1–7 years of experience in Women's Fashion Design or Apparel Product Development.
• Keen eye for color, trend, detail and construction.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to multi-task and prioritize based on business objectives.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Basic knowledge of Design, Apparel Construction and Textiles.
• Ability to understand and analyze Market/Trend information.

Responsibilities

The PD & Design Assistant supports the Product Development & Design team by contributing to the creation, development and execution of each season's Own Brand assortments from initial concept through to production.
