Job summary

Travelers Bond & Specialty Insurance (BSI) seeks a Design Professional Claim Counsel with a JD and 5+ years of relevant legal or claims experience. The role provides legal guidance to underwriting and claim teams and handles professional liability claims for architects, engineers, and design professionals.

Travel may be required. You will analyze complex coverage issues, negotiate settlements, and contribute to BSI strategic initiatives in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of relevant legal or claims work experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, investigate, and resolve BSI claims with supervision.
• Prepare management reports on loss development and financial exposure.
• Coordinate with outside counsel and manage litigation plans and budgets.
• Engage with underwriting on significant claim exposures.
• Draft coverage opinions with case law and participate in claim strategy.
