Job description

We're not simply looking for someone to manage projects. We're looking for someone who will help our people, our culture, and our studio grow. Above all, you believe that a successful leader isn't measured only by what they accomplish, but by what they empower others to achieve.

At YossiG, we believe that thoughtfully designed spaces inspire the best in people. We believe the same should be true of the environment in which those spaces are created.

We're a boutique interior design studio specializing in high-end residential, multifamily, and meaningful community spaces. Our work is personal, our standards are high, and our greatest strength is the talented team behind every project.

We're looking for an experienced Design Manager with 15+ years of industry experience who is passionate about building people, strengthening teams, and creating an environment where exceptional design can thrive.

This is an opportunity for a natural leader—someone who knows how to recognize talent, nurture potential, inspire accountability, and bring people together around a shared vision.
As Design Manager, you'll play a central leadership role in shaping the daily experience, development, and success of our design team.

Working closely with our Design Director and Principal, you'll translate the studio's creative vision and business goals into clear priorities, strong team performance, and a collaborative, supportive environment.

You'll be a mentor, a coach, a problem-solver, and a trusted leader—someone who brings out the best in people while ensuring the work reflects the highest YossiG standards.

Who you are
  • 15+ years of experience in interior design, including significant experience leading teams and complex projects.
  • A strong background in high-end residential design, with multifamily experience considered an advantage.
  • A proven people leader with a genuine passion for mentoring, coaching, and developing talent.
  • Someone who leads with both confidence and humility—approachable, decisive, and respected.
  • An exceptional communicator who knows how to listen, motivate, provide feedback, and navigate difficult conversations.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and capable of balancing the needs of people, projects, and the business.
  • Experienced in managing project schedules, resources, budgets, and performance.
  • A strategic thinker who can see the bigger picture while remaining attentive to the details.
  • Someone who naturally takes ownership, holds themselves and others accountable, and leads with a solutions-first mindset.
What you’ll do
  • Mentor and guide designers at different stages of their careers, helping them build confidence, strengthen their skills, and reach their potential.
  • Recognize individual strengths and create opportunities for meaningful professional growth.
  • Establish clear expectations, provide constructive feedback, and foster a culture of ownership and accountability.
  • Lead regular team check-ins, performance conversations, and development planning.
  • Create an environment where designers feel supported, challenged, valued, and motivated to do their best work.
  • Encourage collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and a genuine sense of team.
Build a Culture of Excellence
  • Lead by example with professionalism, integrity, empathy, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Foster a positive, solution-oriented studio culture where people take pride in their work and in one another's success.
  • Encourage independent thinking, initiative, and thoughtful decision-making.
  • Help the team navigate challenges constructively, turning obstacles into opportunities to learn and grow.
  • Strengthen communication, collaboration, and trust across departments.
Drive Team Performance & Accountability
  • Provide the clarity, structure, and direction designers need to succeed.
  • Oversee team workload, assignments, priorities, and project responsibilities.
  • Ensure projects progress with strong coordination, consistent communication, and clear ownership.
  • Identify challenges early and coach team members toward effective solutions.
  • Balance creativity with deadlines, budgets, and operational expectations.
  • Empower designers to take responsibility for their work rather than relying on constant oversight.
Support Exceptional Design & Client Experiences
  • Partner with the Design Director to ensure creative vision is supported by strong execution.
  • Guide the team through all phases of high-end residential and multifamily projects.
  • Maintain high standards for design development, documentation, detailing, and project delivery.
  • Support designers in building confidence and professionalism in client relationships.
  • Step in as a trusted leader when complex decisions, challenges, or client situations require experienced judgment.
Help Shape the Future of YossiG
  • Work with studio leadership to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Strengthen team structure, processes, and communication as the studio evolves.
  • Help identify, recruit, onboard, and develop exceptional talent.
  • Build leadership capabilities within the team and create opportunities for advancement.
  • Contribute to a studio that can grow sustainably while preserving its creativity, culture, and personalized approach.
