Job summary

MiraCosta College is seeking an Instructional Associate in Design to support the Design Department on the Oceanside Campus. The role involves setting up labs, demonstrating learning exercises, and assisting instructors with technical equipment, including computers, hardware, tools, and software.

Responsibilities include supervising student workers, coordinating lab schedules, ensuring safety, and assisting in budgeting and procurement for lab materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in area of specialty; one year related work experience or equivalent.
• Experience providing instructional assistance to students and labs.
• Familiarity with design software and fabrication equipment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, set up, explain and demonstrate learning exercises and instructional materials.
• Assist instructors and students with technical equipment in the lab.
• Monitor safety, enforce lab policies and supervise labs.
• Schedule and manage lab activities and inventories.
• Provide training to student workers and assistants.
