Job summary

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. in Southern California seeks a Design Manager responsible for guiding design through delivery, coordinating design teams and subcontractors, and ensuring documents meet project goals for quality, cost, scope and execution.

You will lead design management, coordinate BIM workflows, review design progress, manage RFIs, and align specifications with codes while coordinating with owners and vendors.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Facilitation capabilities and collaborative leadership.
• Experience in managing design phases and coordinating across teams.
• Knowledge of building codes and design standards.
• Ability to resolve design conflicts and optimize value.

Responsibilities

• Define, schedule and monitor design deliverables for design-build projects.
• Monitor quality and timeliness of design deliverables.
• Coordinate design document packaging with project teams.
• Interface with owners, architects, engineers and vendors.
• Manage RFIs and design issues between owner and design team.
• Develop BIM workflows and ensure coordination of drawings and specs.
• Prepare design scopes of work for firms and subcontractors.
• Coordinate budgets, GMPs and design estimates with the McCarthy team.
• Ensure compliance with codes and owner requirements.
