This on-site role is based at our world headquarters in Santa Barbara, California, where close collaboration with product development, engineering, testing, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and end users is essential to moving ideas effectively from concept to production.

We are seeking an experienced Design Engineering Manager to lead the development of innovative professional rescue products from early opportunity definition

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 7 to 11+ years of progressive mechanical engineering and product development experience with leadership.
• Experience with safety-critical, rescue, or regulated products is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD and PDM tools; ability to evaluate analyses, prototypes, and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a growing team of engineers developing PPE for rescue markets.
• Translate market needs into product requirements, roadmaps, and objectives.
• Oversee multiple development programs from concept to launch with plans and budgets.
• Provide technical leadership, conduct design reviews, and approve documentation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to balance value, safety, cost, and manufacturability.
