Job summary

MARSHALLTOWN in Fayetteville, AR is seeking an experienced Design Engineer to develop new products, fixtures, tooling, and special machinery to boost productivity and quality. You will generate solid models and detailed drawings for manufacturing tooling and fixtures.

Responsibilities include tackling complex engineering challenges, collaborating across manufacturing, purchasing, and sales, and advancing tooling design from concept to prototype with a strong emphasis on DFMEA/DFM and GD&T.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree from an accredited university; mechanical degree preferred; PMP certification may be requested
• 5+ years of hands-on design engineering experience
• Understanding of GD&T, DFM, and material science
• Proven ability to resolve complex engineering challenges, such as tooling failures or efficiency improvements
• Experience in tooling/fixture design, automation, and machinery development in manufacturing
• Strong familiarity with machinery’s handbook and design principles
• Deep understanding of plastic injection molding, metal fabrication, stamping, grinding, machining, welding, and additive manufacturing
• Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD software; system administration

Responsibilities

• Understand manufacturing processes, materials, equipment selection, tooling design principles, and production optimization (lean, APQP/PPAP)
• Apply analytical problem-solving to develop effective manufacturing solutions
• Oversee equipment commissioning, vendor management for tooling procurement/fabrication, and troubleshoot production issues
• Roll up sleeves and deliver results to consistently meet goals
• Develop and test prototypes for custom equipment and fixture designs
• Collaborate with shop floor, manufacturing engineering, purchasing, and sales teams
