Job summary

nVent in Eleanor, WV is seeking a Design Engineer to join our team. You will build customer-specific metal building structures, review orders, perform structural and HVAC calculations, and generate detailed CAD drawings to meet IBC/IECC standards.

You will develop automated tools to streamline processes, maintain accurate analysis records, and collaborate with sales and engineering teams on special projects to improve efficiency and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in structural building, HVAC systems, and CAD operation preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams; knowledge of IBC/IECC advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Build customer-specific metal building structures compliant with local codes.
• Review orders with sales and customers to gather needed information.
• Perform structural analyses of buildings including roof, walls, and foundations; run HVAC calculations.
• Record results and maintain spreadsheets/databases; interpret drawings and generate CAD drawings.
• Develop automated tools and processes to streamline building workflows and support continuous improvement.
