Job summary

The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, preparing drawings with AutoCAD/Autodesk tools, performing static and dynamic calculations, and assisting with welding, testing, and on-site validation of construction

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in mechanical design and structural engineering.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or Autodesk tools.
• Experience interpreting construction drawings and equipment specifications.
• Knowledge of building codes and engineering standards.
• Experience performing static and dynamic calculations.
• Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support mechanical and structural designs for modular systems and equipment.
• Prepare and review structural drawings, schematics, construction drawings, and equipment specifications using AutoCAD or Autodesk tools.
• Perform static and dynamic structural calculations, including load calculations and testing.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and national building codes, standards, and regulations.
• Coordinate structural design activities with mechanical, electrical, thermal, and architectural teams.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers on thermal transfer calculations and related design requirements.
• Support seismic, thermal, and structural design activities.
• Develop welding procedures, inspection specifications, and load/test procedures.
• Work with fabrication teams to validate construction processes and welding specs.
• Support quality control, structural testing, and design validation; assist on-site module activities.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation and technical specifications.

The ideal candidate will support the development of structural designs for modular systems, ensuring compliance with applicable building codes, safety standards, and engineering specifications.

The role involves collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams, manufacturing facilities, and fabrication teams to develop and validate structural solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and support mechanical and structural designs for modular systems and equipment.
• Prepare and review structural drawings, schematics, construction drawings, and equipment specifications using AutoCAD or Autodesk tools.
• Perform static and dynamic structural calculations, including structural load calculations and testing.
• Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and national building codes, standards, and regulations.
• Coordinate structural design activities with mechanical, electrical, thermal, and architectural engineering teams.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers on thermal transfer calculations and related design requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Relevant experience in mechanical design, structural engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or Autodesk design tools.
• Experience preparing and interpreting construction drawings and equipment specifications.
• Knowledge of applicable building codes and engineering standards.
• Experience performing static and dynamic calculations.
• Knowledge of mechanical component design, structural schematics, and structural load calculations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with seismic and structural design.
• Knowledge of thermal transfer calculations.
