Job summary

Trigger.dev is seeking a Design Engineer to raise the bar on UX and visual quality across our product and marketing surfaces. You’ll blend design sensibility with real engineering ability, turning rough ideas or problem statements into well-crafted, production-ready experiences without a formal design-to-dev handoff.

This hands-on, high-impact role requires shipping quality UI, building a design system, and collaborating with a small, fast-moving team.

Qualifications

• Strong portfolio showing production UI shipped end-to-end.
• Expertise in modern frontend engineering using React and TypeScript.
• Experience with design systems and component libraries.
• Ability to drive design decisions from problem statement to production code.
• Remote-friendly with CET to ET availability; willingness to travel for in-person events.

Responsibilities

• Designing and building high-quality, polished UI across our web app and marketing site.
• Work closely with the rest of the engineering team to build new features with a focus on design craft and great UX.
• Owning design decisions end‑to‑end: from rough concept through to shipped, production code
• Building and evolving our design system and component library so quality scales as the product grows
• Improving accessibility, responsiveness, and interaction polish across existing product surfaces
• Prototyping new ideas quickly in code as well as static mockups, so we can iterate fast
• Helping instil a stronger design/UX sensibility across the wider engineering team
