Job summary

Ledge is seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join the Product Development team. This role focuses on turning concepts into production-ready 3D CAD models, collaborating with vendors on molded parts, and owning in-house production prototyping.

You will apply DFM and DFA to ensure premium quality, structural integrity, and efficient manufacturing. The ideal candidate has deep plastics/molding expertise, strong CAD/CAM skills (SolidWorks, CAMWorks), and hands-on experience with CNC

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or closely related field preferred.
Experience designing parts for Injection Molding, Rotomolding, and Blow Molding with tooling constraints.
Experience designing products using CNC routing and mechanical assembly methods.
Advanced proficiency in 3D parametric modeling and surfaces using SolidWorks; CAM software knowledge (CAMWorks) for CNC toolpaths.

Responsibilities

Create, edit, and update 3D parametric models and engineering drawings for new and existing products.
Design parts optimized to be cut from HDPE sheets to maximize material yield and reduce waste.
Apply DFM and DFA principles to ensure efficient assembly and manufacturability.
Coordinate with external tooling and molding vendors; review tool drawings and adjust designs as needed.
Program toolpaths for CNC machines and prototype fabrication; build and test physical prototypes.
Document changes, BOMs, and technical manuals; drive continuous improvement in product quality and process throughput.
