Job summary

Jamestown Plastics in New York seeks a Design Engineer to translate concepts into practical designs and oversee the product development process from concept to production.

You will lead customer projects, collaborate with Sales and Vendors, and ensure design controls are followed to achieve successful validation and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• College/Technical training in design and CAD.
• Knowledge of design and engineering principles.
• Experience in CAM and basic machining is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Act as Project Manager for customer projects.
• Coordinate with Customer, Sales and Vendors to align requirements.
• Design customer products and the associated processes and tooling.
• Assist Production with initial development of processes and configurations.
• Define design and development output risks and review inputs.
• Implement design control and manage change documentation.
• Review prototype samples and validate before customer approval.
• Perform internal validation on production tooling.
• Conduct post-project reviews.
