Job summary

Ledge seeks an experienced Design Engineer to join its Product Development team. You will transform concepts into production-ready 3D CAD models, focusing on plastics, injected and rotational molding, and HDPE sheet design for in-house manufacturing and outsourcing partners.

Responsibilities include creating complex models in SolidWorks and Rhino, optimizing for DFM/DFA, prototyping via CNC, tooling liaison, and BOM/documentation generation to support premium outdoor living products.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering; related experience considered with an associate degree.
Experience designing parts for Injection Molding, Rotomolding and Blow Molding.
Proficiency in 3D parametric modeling and surface modeling (SolidWorks required). CAM software knowledge (CAMWorks preferred).

Responsibilities

Create, edit and update 3D; drawings for new and existing products using SolidWorks and Rhino.
Design parts optimized for HDPE sheet fabrication to maximize yield and minimize waste.
Apply DFM/DFA principles to ensure manufacturability and assembly efficiency.
Collaborate with external tooling and molding vendors; review tool drawings and adjust designs.
Prototype fabrication, CNC programming and hands-on validation of concepts.
Prepare BOMs and technical documentation; track changes.
Identify process or design improvements for quality and throughput.
