Job summary

Ledge Lounger is seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join our Product Development team. You will transform concepts into production-ready 3D CAD models, bridging creative design and fabrication for in-house and outsourced manufacturing of premium in-pool and poolside products.

The role emphasizes Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA), working with external tooling vendors and in-house CAM/cutting processes to ensure quality, yield, and manufacturability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
  • Experience designing parts for plastics molding and sheet fabrication.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and CAM tooling for prototyping.

Responsibilities

  • Create, edit, and update 3D CAD models and drawings for new and existing products.
  • Design parts optimized for HDPE sheets and minimize waste.
  • Apply DFM and DFA principles to all products for efficient assembly.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and internal teams to resolve manufacturing challenges.
  • Prototype fabrication, CNC programming, and testing of design concepts.
  • Document changes, prepare BOMs, and support production readiness.
  • Identify process improvements to enhance quality and throughput.
