Job summary

Weir in Belleview, Florida is seeking a Design Engineer to develop detailed part drawings and 3-D models, primarily using SolidWorks, to meet customer specs and ease of manufacturing. You will review BOMs for accuracy and support mold design and urethane processes on-site.

The role emphasizes collaboration with manufacturing, purchasing, quality, sales, and R&D teams, with a focus on safety, reliability, and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 2-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in pump or rotating equipment design.
• Proficiency in CAD and 3D solid modeling tools, with SolidWorks experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in manufacturing environments and BOM management.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hands-on manufacturing setting, with a strong focus on safety and PPE compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design & Engineering: Create and modify detailed part drawings and 3-D models using CAD systems (SolidWorks preferred) to meet customer specifications and manufacturability. Review designs and BOMs for accuracy and manufacturability.
• Collaboration & Support: Work onsite with manufacturing, purchasing, quality, sales, and R&D teams to ensure engineering solutions meet needs and troubleshoot manufacturing challenges, especially urethane processes.
• Product Customization: Customize standard pump designs and engineering data to fulfill specific customer requirements, assisting sales with cost estimates and mold costing.
