Job summary

The Product Design Engineer at Wilden Pump & Engineering LLC turns sales and marketing specs into robust mechanical designs. You will apply FEA to optimize performance and use SolidWorks to build reliable components.

You will design parts and assemblies, evaluate stress/deflection, and work with cross-functional teams to deliver manufacturable products. A Bachelor's in mechanical engineering and at least 3 years of related experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of 3 years of related work experience.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks 3-D design and FEA.
• Familiar with molding technologies including investment casting, die casting, injection molding and sand casting.
• Ability to develop an accurate project plan.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with cross functional teams to develop new products and conduct design reviews.
• Perform design analyses for force, stress and deflection.
• Develop components that meet structural and functional requirements.
• Create cross-sectional layouts and perform tolerance stack-up and GD&T.
• Develop product test plans and validate new product designs.
• Provide technical assistance to customers, suppliers, and internal groups.
• Ensure drawings, Bills of Materials, and engineering specifications are up to date.
