Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated seeks a Design Engineer to support the Burndy Small Hydent product family from Manchester, NH or Hamilton, OH. You will read technical drawings, develop and test designs, and coordinate with manufacturing, product management, sourcing and purchasing to ensure quality and cost targets are met.

The role emphasizes 3D modeling with Autodesk Inventor, design validation, and documenting processes for regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (required).
• Proficiency in CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor or similar (required).
• 1–3 years industry experience in product development.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong organizational skills in documenting design, testing, and validation processes.
• Experience with designing and testing for regulatory requirements (UL, CSA, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Participate in New Product Development (NPD) teams.
• Design, develop, test, and validate for new and existing products.
• Create 3D models and drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
• Design and evaluate products, parts, and processes for cost efficiency and reliability.
• Contribute design modifications to improve quality and function.
• Interact with engineers, sales, production, vendors and supply chain.
