Job summary

Marks, part of the Propelis Group, is seeking a Design Engineer Intern in Chicago to support the engineering and industrial design teams on consumer product and packaging development projects.

This is a six-month internship based in Chicago, hiring for January to June and June to December 2027. You will gain hands-on experience with Solidworks, Keyshot, 3D printing, prototyping, and client interactions while contributing to real product solutions.

Qualifications

• Junior or Senior pursuing a BS in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing and Design Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of Solidworks, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite and Keyshot preferred.

Responsibilities

• 3D modeling in Solidworks and rendering in Keyshot.
• Consumer product and package design, development, and testing.
• Rapid prototyping including 3D printers, CAD cutting table, and vacuum former.
• Assisting engineers and designers in design, prototyping and testing of new product/packaging solutions.
• Attend client meetings to provide technical support and creative problem solving.
