Job summary

Valmont is seeking an Associate Design Engineer to join our team in Omaha, NE. The role focuses on engineering design and development to meet project requirements, coordinating the design team, and ensuring manufacturability and efficiency across departments.

Responsibilities include leading design reviews, contributing to testing, and driving improvements in design procedures, while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Valmont products and manufacturing capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel/PowerPoint/Word).
• Mechanical aptitude with strong analytical, organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Experience with 3D CAD and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Travel up to 10%, including international travel.

Responsibilities

• Develop new and innovative designs to meet customer needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality designs and products.
• Participate in technical design reviews and provide mechanical design input.
• Follow and update standard design and development procedures as needed.
• Coordinate activities of Engineering Technicians and participate in testing.
• Manage project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Maintain relationships with customers and other departments for efficient operations.
• Prepare detailed project documentation per Product Development procedures.
• Advance technical competence to improve products and capabilities.
• Provide input to improve product development procedures.
• Coordinate and conduct laboratory or field testing when required.
• Provide technical support to other departments.
