Job summary

Gokenamericallc is seeking an mechanical design engineer to support engineering design and development activities for components such as Head Unit, Meter, Telematics Unit, Switches, and Display. The role involves 3-D modeling, layout review, and 2D drawing creation to advance large-scale product programs.

Responsibilities include problem-solving, BOM creation, cost analysis, material selection, and collaboration with suppliers.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 3+ years of experience.
• Specialties preferred: Mechanical, Mechanical Technology, Aerospace, Automotive, Manufacturing.
• Experience designing components and systems such as Head Unit, Meter, Telematics Unit, Switches, Amp, Speakers, Wireless Charger, Display, etc.
• Experience using CATIA V5/V6 is required.
• Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office.

• Analyze and resolve complex problems independently or with minimal guidance.
• Create part specification requirements and BOM.
• Negotiate with surrounding component business units and suppliers.
• Perform cost analysis, strength calculations and material selection.
• Use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve product and/or processes.
• Search new ways to increase overall efficiency, utilize up-to-date technology, and reduce design and parts costs.
• Travel to client sites required.
