Seeking a Design Engineer with Industrial refrigeration (CO2, Ammonia, etc.), Large Hydronic Piping Systems Design, Mechanical Systems & Component knowledge of Refrigeration, and experience with Estimating, Budgeting, Proposals, Presentations, etc. to join our client's industrial design-build team in the Cincinnati, OH or Fort Wayne, IN office areas.
Design Engineer Must Have Business Experience:
- Connect with vendors and suppliers to stay updated on industry developments and innovations in equipment and processes
- Meet with customers to understand and document infrastructure and critical process needs and constraints
- Develop preliminary design solutions to meet customer requirements
- Create high-level budgets for design options
- Develop detailed cost estimates, including equipment, materials, labor, and subcontractors
- Use estimating tools to complete accurate quotes, including value-added options when appropriate
- Apply value engineering practices to modify scope and costs to meet customer needs
- Mentor less experienced employees to foster growth and best practices
- Enhance project engineering and estimating tools, policies, and procedures

Design Engineer Must Have Profile:
- At least 10 years of proven performance in a construction-related role, or a bachelor’s degree in a related engineering or construction management field, with eligibility to take the Mechanical Professional Engineering exam
- Ability to design industrial refrigeration systems to meet client needs
- Experience in estimating, quoting, and selling profitable new business
- Technical knowledge of refrigeration, mechanical, and HVAC system components
- Project management skills, including planning, Gantt charts, and CPM techniques
- Capability to design industry equipment components
- Knowledge of OSHA and EPA requirements
- Strong analytical skills, systematic work approach
- Excellent team and communication skills
- Initiative, responsibility, flexibility
