Job summary

Blue Origin in Merritt Island, Florida, is seeking an engineer to design, develop, and maintain instrumentation, power supply architecture, and embedded controls for launch vehicle ground support and integration.

You will lead PLC software development, design electrical schematics, and collaborate with technicians to install and commission systems, ensuring safety, reliability, and readiness for a highly automated spaceflight program.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 1–5 years in power & control systems for launch vehicles or related fields.
  • Experience with Rockwell or Siemens hardware and AutoCad Electrical.
  • Familiarity with Mil‑Spec connectors and NEC/NASA standards.
  • Ability to work in a safety‑conscious, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead industrial control system efforts and PLC hardware design.
  • Design electrical power and controls schematics and diagrams.
  • Create and modify assembly drawings for designs.
  • Develop electrical ground support equipment for launch operations.
  • Collaborate with technicians on fabrication, installation, and commissioning.
