Job summary

Expert Connections is seeking a Design Engineer in Charlotte, NC. This hands-on mechanical design role focuses on taking SolidWorks models from concept to fabrication and assembly in-house.

You will work closely with Project Engineers, Manufacturing, Sourcing, and other internal teams to ensure designs meet project specs and schedules. The ideal candidate has 2–4+ years in 3D mechanical design, strong SolidWorks experience, and a background in equipment, weldments, and assemblies.

Qualifications

• 2-4+ years of experience in 3D mechanical design and modeling.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3D mechanical equipment designs and models using SolidWorks.
• Create detailed fabrication-level drawing packages.
• Design mechanical equipment, weldments, components, and assemblies.
• Utilize top-down and assembly-driven modeling techniques.
• Apply drafting standards to drawings and technical documentation.
• Design and integrate power transmission components including motors, gearboxes, chain drives, shafts and bearings.
• Complete mechanical design calculations as required.
• Collaborate with engineers and manufacturing teams to review designs.
• Support project submittal packages with technical drawings.
