Job summary

Regal Rexnord seeks a Design Engineer III to lead the design of industrial electrical products at Marathon Special Products. You will own new product development from concept through launch, translating VOC into manufacturable designs and working across PM, Eng, Manufacturing, Sourcing, and Quality.

You will drive design reviews, prototypes, and validation, while ensuring compliance with UL/CSA/IEC and leading launches with a hands-on, independent approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in product design, product engineering, or a related technical role.
• Strong drafting and mechanical design experience for manufactured products.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred).
• Experience with product validation, testing, and design verification methods.
• Demonstrated success managing engineering projects, tracking milestones, and meeting project schedules.
• Ability to work independently and drive technical decisions with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to independently troubleshoot design and application issues.
• Ability to make sound technical decisions and drive work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of new products from concept through commercialization, owning the most complex projects.
• Translate VOC and requirements into product designs, specs, and performance targets.
• Develop detailed engineering concepts and drawings for proposals, reviews, and manufacturing.
• Lead design reviews, DFMEA, and validation activities to ensure performance and reliability.
• Develop and validate prototypes, test plans, and design iterations.
• Lead agency compliance efforts (UL/CSA/IEC) including documentation and interactions as needed.
• Lead pre-production builds, pilot runs, and validation testing for launches.
• Troubleshoot design, quality, and field issues and implement corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement and post-launch enhancements based on feedback.
• Provide technical leadership to cross-functional teams and drive project execution.
