Job summary

Milwaukee Tool seeks a Design Engineer II to contribute to the design, development, and support of new and existing hand tool products. You will work on cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that meet customer needs and business goals, including design, validation, and testing activities.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering, 2+ years of design experience, and proficiency with Creo/SolidWorks/NX or equivalent CAD tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of design experience.
• Experience with Creo, SolidWorks, NX or similar CAD tools.
• Experience applying engineering analysis tools to support mechanical design.
• Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes and mechanical properties.
• Ability to work independently and across functions.
• Willingness to learn beyond core areas.
• Interest in end-user applications and job-site needs.
• Ability to travel up to 10% (Domestic and International).

Responsibilities

• Design, validate, and launch Hand Tool New Product Development projects with cross-functional teams.
• Develop product designs and engineering solutions meeting end-user needs, performance and cost targets.
• Develop component and product specifications aligning with manufacturing capabilities.
• Evaluate designs for materials, manufacturing, reliability, quality and cost.
• Perform engineering calculations and analyses (stress, tolerance, mechanism design).
• Develop testing programs to support design decisions and validation.
• Communicate test results and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Support manufacturing and suppliers in troubleshooting and design improvements.
• Conduct competitive evaluations and root cause analyses for improvements.
