Job summary

Clark Material Handling Company is seeking a Design Engineer II to lead design and development of mobile equipment products. The role coordinates with Marketing, Manufacturing, Vendors, Purchasers and Customers to ensure design criteria are met and improvements are implemented.

You will create NX drawings, perform calculations and oversee prototype testing. Responsibilities include data gathering from multiple sources, validating designs against standards, and communicating changes through

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or Physical Sciences.
• 3 years’ experience in product engineering designing mobile equipment, or 5 years in a related field.
• Experience using a design drafting package, preferably NX.
• Experience with an MRP system.
• Basic understanding of fork truck design and operation.
• Must be able to travel abroad, including North America and internationally.
• Must be able to work in the U.S. indefinitely without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design and development of new or redesigned products.
• Gather data from customer input, warranty, testing to define design criteria.
• Coordinate with Marketing, Manufacturing, Vendors, Purchasers, Customers, and other Engineers.
• Perform quality checks to ensure trucks meet specifications and conduct testing, analyze results, and take corrective actions.
• Create and develop new/ revised product designs using NX for outputs, layouts and drawings.
• Perform mechanical calculations and analyze attributes like strength, loads, stresses, tolerances, and fluid dynamics.
• Field inquiries about products and designs and communicate changes through proposals and presentations.
• Oversee prototype assembly, testing and reporting; travel to other facilities for meetings and on-site observations.
• Maintain high technical competence and ensure designs meet UL, NFPA, ANSI, ISO standards.
