Job summary

SIG SAUER, Inc. is seeking a Design Engineer II to develop moderately complex components for new and legacy ammunition products. You will work with engineering, manufacturing, quality and vendors to deliver producible designs, while applying sound engineering judgments.

The role requires a BS in engineering and 3–6 years of related design experience, with familiarity in firearms and ballistics. Strong CAD skills and drafting standards are essential.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Chemical or Aeronautical Engineering. 3–6 years design experience with calibers preferred.
• Experience with firearms/optics and shooting sports industry is desirable.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• 3D CAD modeling and SolidWorks required; MATLAB and LabVIEW preferred.
• Understanding of ASME Y14.5, GD&T, tolerancing and drafting standards.

Responsibilities

• Create ammunition design solutions from concept through production.
• Manage multiple design projects in a fast-paced development cycle.
• Interface with Marketing and customers to document requirements across commercial, law enforcement, international and military sectors.
• Develop 3D models and drawings using SolidWorks; review and approve engineering drawings.
