Job summary

Goken, headquartered in Dublin, Ohio, is seeking a skilled engineer to support engineering design and development activities for large-scale programs. You will lead design tasks, perform layout reviews, create 2D drawings, and develop BOMs using 3-D modeling tools.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s (or equivalent) in engineering and 2–5 years of relevant experience, plus strong knowledge of CATIA V5, DFM, and MS Office.

• Experience with 3-D modeling tools; CATIA V5 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support engineering activities for large-scale product development programs by investigating feasibility, designing with 3-D modeling software, performing layout reviews, and creating 2D drawings.
• Analyze and resolve complex problems independently or with minimal guidance.
• Create part specification requirements and BOM.
• Negotiate with surrounding component business units and suppliers.
• Perform cost analysis, strength calculations and material selection.
• Use best practices to improve products and processes.
• Identify ways to increase efficiency and reduce design costs.
• Travel to client sites required.

Summary

This role will support engineering design and development activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the engineering activities for large scale product development programs by investigating feasibility, performing design using 3-D modeling software, conduct layout review and 2D drawing creation.
• Analyze and resolve complex problems independently or with minimal guidance.
• Create part specification requirements and BOM.
• Negotiate with surrounding component business units and suppliers.
• Perform cost analysis, strength calculations and material selection.
• Use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve product and/or processes.
• Search new ways to increase overall efficiency, utilize up-to-date technology, and reduce design and parts costs
• Travel to client sites required.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 2-5 years relevant industry experience or Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years relevant industry experience or Associate’s degree and 5+ years relevant industry experience.
• Education with the following specialties preferred: Mechanical, Mechanical Technology, Aerospace, Automotive, Manufacturing.
• Experience using 3-D modeling software tools (CATIA V5 preferred).
• Strong understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS office.
