Job summary

EMCOR Services Mesa Energy is seeking a Design Engineer II to support senior engineers with design tasks and field surveys. The role involves analyzing project intent, proposing design solutions and assisting in equipment sizing and retrofits.

You will conduct independent surveys, convert findings into usable plans, and assist in developing submittals and work scopes. The position emphasizes energy modeling and ongoing learning within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Degreed Mechanical or Energy Engineering engineer.
• 2+ years of related experience.
• Obtained EIT/FE designation; in process of obtaining PE.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, and other related software.
• Computer savvy with ability to learn new systems.
• Demonstrated proficiency with energy simulation software; understanding energy management.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Engineers with various tasks and design work.
• Survey job sites to understand project intent and propose design solutions.
• Conduct audits and surveys, document equipment function, location, capacities, photos.
• Convert field surveys into formats for plan and project development; plan to size and replace equipment.
• Support in preparing submittals, work scopes, and documentation.
• Contribute to standard design practices and project documentation for future use.

Job description

We are a full-service HVAC, building automation, chiller, and retrofit contractor with a reputation for combining high-quality consulting services with customized energy solutions. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• The Design Engineer II will perform various tasks assigned by the Senior Engineers and
• Developing the ability to independently conduct job site surveys with a complete understanding of the project's intent and be able to analyze and propose design solutions and installation
• Developing the ability to conduct audits and surveys as needed independently. Record identifying equipment function, tags, location, capacities, photos, etc. Trace piping and ductwork onto field
• Developing the ability to independently convert field surveys (sourced from self or others) into useable formats for plan and project development. Assist in planning to size, replace, and retrofit new equipment to replace aged or obsolete
• Other duties may include copying/printing/scanning, assembly of equipment submittal packages, assistance in preparing work scope, and other tasks as
• Participate in the company’s project improvement process by refining standard design practices, calculating spreadsheet templates, updating and establishing standard procedures and practices, and collecting supporting documentation for various projects to be references for future
