Job summary

M.C. Dean is hiring a Design Engineer 1 to join the Security and Electronic Systems unit. You will assist in designing, engineering, integrating, and maintaining electronic security services for government, local, and commercial customers.

Responsibilities include site surveys, EIDP package creation in AutoCAD, scheduling, and testing coordination. The role requires a technical degree and 0+ years of engineering experience, with opportunities for growth and security clearances.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical/engineering discipline; 0+ years progressive engineering experience.
• Experience with electronic security and IT systems desired.
• Familiarity with networking concepts, routing protocols, LAN/WAN media and firewall configurations.

Responsibilities

• Review customer requirements and assess design constraints to meet needs.
• Plan site surveys for ESS and physical security systems.
• Develop Engineering Installation Design Packages with block/diagrams, riser diagrams, mounting and wiring in AutoCAD.
• Create project and device schedules with EIDP packages.
• Prepare cable, device and PVT plans.
• Contribute to PITCO, system programming, integration testing and equipment builds.
• Perform calculations (power, heat, voltage drop, conduit sizing, bandwidth).
• Draft sequences of operations and compliance matrices.
• Apply NEC, NFPA, UL 294/1076/2050, ICD 705, NISPOM knowledge.
• Assist in bids and proposals and communicate status to management.
